Horizon Cruise Terminal Parking Southampton: The Full Guide
Everything you need to know about Horizon cruise terminal parking at Berth 102, from terminal access and lines that sail from here to our Meet & Greet and Park & Ride options.
Horizon cruise terminal parking can feel like a moving target, because Horizon itself is the most flexibly allocated berth in the Port of Southampton. One week it hosts a Princess turnaround, the next a Celebrity or Norwegian call, and on the busiest Saturdays it absorbs overflow from the other Western Docks berths. We park cars for sailings from Horizon every week of the season, so this guide pulls together what we tell our regulars: where the terminal actually is, which lines you are most likely to find there, why your assigned berth can shift in the final fortnight before sailing, and the cleanest way to get from your driveway to the gangway.
Where Horizon cruise terminal is
Horizon sits at Berth 102 in the Western Docks, postcode SO15 1AW, accessed through Dock Gate 10 off West Bay Road. If you are arriving on the M27 you come off at Junction 3, follow the A33 toward the docks, and Dock Gate 10 is signposted as soon as you reach the dockside roundabout. It is the same gate complex used for the Mayflower cruise terminal at Berth 106, so do not be surprised to see two queues forming if a Cunard or P&O ship is also turning around that morning.
Horizon is a relatively new turnaround facility compared to the older Ocean and QEII buildings in the Eastern Docks. It has its own short-stay drop-off, its own check-in hall, and porters who handle hold luggage at the kerbside. It is not, however, a fixed home berth for any single cruise line, and that is the single most useful fact to remember when you are planning your parking.
Which cruise lines use Horizon
On any given week you might find Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian, or Cunard ships allocated to Horizon. The port assigns berths based on which vessels are calling, their size, and the turnaround windows of other ships in dock that day. As a rough guide:
- Princess parking sailings frequently use Horizon when Mayflower is occupied by a Queen-class Cunarder.
- Celebrity parking calls into Southampton are often slotted into Horizon, particularly for Edge-class ships.
- Norwegian Cruise Line uses Horizon on a number of its UK-based itineraries, especially in shoulder season.
- Cunard occasionally overflows here when both Queen Mary 2 and Queen Anne are alongside on the same day.
We have also seen MSC, Holland America, and Fred Olsen calls allocated to Horizon when their usual berth is double-booked. The port does not publish a single fixed schedule months in advance, which is why the next section matters.
Why your allocated berth can shift
Cruise lines confirm their final berth allocations with Associated British Ports closer to sailing, often inside the last four weeks. It is normal for a booking confirmation issued nine months ago to say one terminal and the actual e-ticket to say another. We recommend you check your cruise line's app or e-ticket two to four weeks before sailing and again 72 hours before you leave home.
This shift is not a problem for our customers. Both our Meet & Greet and Park & Ride services work across all five Southampton cruise terminals, and we move with the port. If your ship is rebadged from Horizon to Mayflower the day before you sail, you simply tell us at the kerb or call ahead and we redirect the driver. Nothing on your booking needs to be amended at our end.
Meet & Greet at the Horizon short-stay
Meet & Greet is the option most of our Horizon customers choose, and it is the smoothest way to start a cruise. You drive directly to the Horizon short-stay drop-off, meet our uniformed driver at the kerb, unload your bags onto a porter trolley, and hand over the keys. The whole exchange usually takes under five minutes. Your car is driven off to our compound near the port at SO19 4DY, which is gated, CCTV-monitored, and covered by £2 million of public liability insurance for the full duration of your sailing.
The handover itself is recorded on body cam, both outbound and inbound. There is no tablet, no signature, and no condition log emailed afterwards. The footage is our record and yours if anything is ever queried.
Meet & Greet at Horizon costs £80 for one night, £130 for seven nights, £170 for fourteen nights, £230 for twenty-one nights, and £245 for thirty-one nights. Those are flat prices with no surge charging on peak weekends and no discount-code hunting required. You can book Meet & Greet in a couple of minutes.
Park & Ride to Horizon
If you would rather drive to our compound first and let our shuttle take you the last 1.5 miles, Park & Ride is the answer. You arrive at SO19 4DY, park the car yourself in a marked bay, and board the shuttle. The shuttle drops you directly at the Horizon terminal entrance, the same kerb the Meet & Greet drivers use, so your luggage handling is identical. On return, you call us from baggage reclaim and the shuttle returns to collect you.
Park & Ride is our most economical option at £50 for one night, £80 for seven nights, £110 for fourteen nights, £130 for twenty-one nights, and £150 for thirty-one nights. Service hours are 07:00 to 16:30, seven days a week, which covers every published Horizon sailing window. You can book Park & Ride directly.
What the compound is like
Our compound sits about 1.5 miles from the port, easy off the M27, in a residential industrial area. It is fully gated, every entry and exit is on CCTV, and the cars are parked in marked bays under our staff supervision throughout opening hours. We are accredited by Trading Standards Buy With Confidence and approved by ABP. The full list of our accreditations is on the site.
We have parked over 10,000 cars and hold a 4.9 average from more than 980 verified reviews on Google and Trustpilot. We do not park trailers, caravans, or oversized motorhomes, and vehicles with hand controls or heavy aftermarket modifications need to be discussed with us first. Anything outside the standard car footprint, please contact us before booking.
Frequently asked
Q Is Horizon the same as Mayflower? No. Horizon is Berth 102 and Mayflower is Berth 106. They share the Western Docks complex and the same Dock Gate 10 entrance, but they are separate buildings with separate check-in halls.
Q My booking says Horizon but I have heard ships sometimes move. What should I do? Check your cruise line's app or e-ticket two to four weeks before sailing, and again three days before. Our service works across all five terminals, so even if you only know on the morning of your cruise, we move with you.
Q How early should I arrive at Horizon? Most cruise lines stagger check-in by deck or cabin in 30 minute windows. Aim for the start of your allocated window, not before, so you are not queuing on the dockside. Our shuttle and Meet & Greet drivers run from 07:00, which covers every sensible arrival slot.
Q Can I leave the car overnight before an early sailing? Yes, both Meet & Greet and Park & Ride can be booked from the night before. The one night rate applies and the car is in the gated compound from the moment you hand over.
