Mayflower Cruise Terminal Parking: The Complete Southampton Guide

Everything you need to know about Mayflower cruise terminal parking in Southampton, from Meet and Greet drop-off at Berth 106 to our Park and Ride shuttle, plus directions and cruise-morning tips.

By Cruise Azure Parking team 6 min read

If you are sailing from Berth 106 in the Western Docks, sorting your Mayflower cruise terminal parking ahead of time is the single thing that turns a stressful cruise morning into a calm one. Mayflower is one of the busier turnaround berths at the Port of Southampton, hosting P&O smaller ships, Cunard Queen Victoria, the smaller Royal Caribbean vessels, MSC turnarounds and a handful of Princess departures. We have been parking cars for guests sailing from this terminal since long before the current building reopened, and this guide pulls together everything we get asked about it, from the right postcode to which gate to aim for.

Where Mayflower Cruise Terminal actually is

Mayflower sits at Berth 106 in the Western Docks, postcode SO15 1HJ. You enter the port estate through Dock Gate 10, which is the gate signposted off West Quay Road as you come down from the M271. Do not confuse it with the City Cruise Terminal at Berth 101 or Horizon at Berth 102, both of which are also in the Western Docks and only a few minutes apart by car but completely separate buildings with their own check-in halls.

The terminal building itself is a modern two-storey hall with a covered drop-off lane immediately outside. There is a short-stay car park in front of the building where private vehicles, taxis and operators like us pull in to unload luggage. That short-stay area is where our Meet and Greet team take your keys, and where they hand them back when you walk off the ship at the end of your cruise.

For full background on the terminal, including the cruise lines that use it most often, see our dedicated Mayflower cruise terminal page.

Which cruise lines use Mayflower

Mayflower is the regular Southampton home of several lines whose ships are too small for the larger Ocean or Horizon berths or whose schedule simply lands them here:

  • P&O Cruises smaller ships, particularly Aurora and Ventura, often turn around at Mayflower. For the line specific drop-off and pickup rhythm we know well, see P&O parking.
  • Cunard Queen Victoria uses Mayflower regularly when Queen Mary 2 and Queen Anne are taking the larger Ocean and QEII berths. See Cunard parking for our notes on the Cunard turnaround pattern.
  • Royal Caribbean assigns the smaller end of its fleet here when bigger ships such as Anthem are berthed elsewhere.
  • MSC Cruises uses Mayflower for many of its Southampton turnarounds.
  • Princess Cruises occasionally departs from Mayflower when the schedule pushes Sky Princess or Regal Princess to other berths.

If you are unsure which berth your sailing leaves from, your cruise line ticket will confirm it about a week before sailing. We always re-check the official port schedule before your cruise day and adjust our routing if anything moves.

Our Meet and Greet drop point at Mayflower

For most guests sailing from Mayflower, Meet and Greet is the easier option. You drive directly to the terminal, pull into the short-stay car park immediately in front of the building, and one of our uniformed drivers meets you at your car. We do a body-cam recorded walk-around of your vehicle, take the keys, and you walk straight into the check-in hall with your luggage. Total time at the kerb is usually under five minutes.

When you come back through arrivals, you collect your bags, step outside, and we bring your car back to that same short-stay area. The walk from the customs hall door to the pickup is around 30 to 50 metres depending on which lane we pull into.

Meet and Greet pricing at Mayflower is flat:

  • £80 for 1 night
  • £130 for 7 nights
  • £170 for 14 nights
  • £230 for 21 nights
  • £245 for 31 nights
  • £255 for 41 nights

No surge pricing, no peak-week uplift, no discount-code chase. You can book Meet and Greet in about two minutes once you have your sailing details.

Park and Ride from our compound

If you prefer to leave your car parked away from the dock, our Park and Ride option uses our compound near the port at SO19 4DY, just 1.5 miles from Mayflower and easy off the M27 at junction 8. You drive in, we check you in, and our shuttle takes you and your luggage to the Mayflower terminal door. On return, you call us when you have collected your bags and the shuttle is back at the terminal within about 10 to 15 minutes.

Park and Ride prices at Mayflower:

  • £50 for 1 night
  • £80 for 7 nights
  • £110 for 14 nights
  • £130 for 21 nights
  • £150 for 31 nights

The compound is gated, CCTV monitored, and £2 million of public liability insurance applies for the full duration of your sailing. You can book Park and Ride on the same booking flow.

Sat-nav postcodes and how to get there

For Meet and Greet at Mayflower, set your sat-nav to SO15 1HJ and follow signs for Dock Gate 10. The cleanest route in is:

  • From the M27, take junction 3 onto the M271 southbound
  • Continue onto the A33 Redbridge Road, which becomes West Quay Road
  • After roughly two miles you will see Dock Gate 10 on your left, signposted for cruise terminals

For Park and Ride, set your sat-nav to SO19 4DY and follow our booking confirmation directions for the final turn into the compound. The site is roughly 12 minutes from the terminal in normal traffic.

Two things worth knowing on cruise morning. Dock Gate 4 in the Eastern Docks is the busier gate and queues there can spill back onto the dual carriageway in peak season. Coming in via Dock Gate 10 to Mayflower is almost always calmer. Second, Southampton roadworks change frequently. If your sat-nav suggests routing you through the city centre, ignore it and stick to the M27 to M271 to A33 spine. It is slightly longer in miles but usually 15 minutes faster.

What to expect on cruise morning

Our service hours are 07:00 to 16:30, seven days a week, which covers the full window when ships at Mayflower take on guests. Most P&O and Cunard sailings from this terminal board between 11:30 and 15:00, so we recommend arriving at your assigned check-in time rather than first thing. Earlier arrivals tend to mean a longer wait in the terminal.

When you pull up, look for our drivers in branded fleeces near the short-stay barrier. The handover takes a few minutes. We walk around the vehicle with a body cam recording the condition outside and inside, agree the mileage, take the keys, and you go. There is no tablet to sign, no paperwork emailed afterwards, just the camera record kept on file in case it is ever needed.

On return, your driver will already know your ship is in. Call the number on your booking once you have your bags and we will bring the car back to the same kerb. Our accreditations include Trading Standards Buy With Confidence and ABP approval, which you can read about on our accreditations page, and you can see what guests think on our reviews page where we sit at 4.9 from over 980 verified reviews.

Frequently asked

Q Can I park a caravan or trailer at Mayflower? We do not accept caravans or trailers on either Meet and Greet or Park and Ride. If you have a roof box on the car itself, that is fine.

Q What if my ship comes in late? You are covered. Our team tracks the official port arrival board, so if your ship docks late we know about it before you do, and there is no late fee for ship delays.

Q Is Meet and Greet or Park and Ride better for Mayflower? For most sailings from Mayflower, Meet and Greet is the smoother option because you avoid the shuttle leg in both directions. Park and Ride costs less and is the right call if you would rather your car was not on the dock estate.

Q I have specific access needs for the handover. Can you help? For any request outside our standard service, please contact us before booking so we can talk it through honestly.
