About parking at the Port of Southampton

Off-port parking, every Southampton Port terminal covered

The Port of Southampton operates five cruise terminals split between Western Docks (Mayflower, Horizon, City) and Eastern Docks (Ocean, QEII). Most cruise lines sail from one of these five on any given day, and your booking confirmation tells you which.

We are an off-port operator. That means our compound is a short distance from the docks, with two ways of getting you to your terminal: Meet & Greet (you drive to the terminal, we collect the car at the gate) or Park & Ride (you park with us, we shuttle you to the terminal). Both options serve every Southampton Port cruise terminal at one flat price.

Off-port is the standard choice for a cruise out of Southampton Port because the on-port terminal car park is priced as a short-stay rate and gets expensive quickly across a 7 to 14 night sailing. Off-port operators are built for the cruise window: car taken on the morning of the sailing, returned the moment you dock.

All 5 Southampton Port cruise terminals

Every terminal, one flat price

The Port of Southampton operates five cruise terminals across two dock groups. We cover every one at the same price. You do not pay more for a terminal that is further away from our compound.

Western Docks

Mayflower, Horizon, City. The grouping on the west side of the Port of Southampton, closest to the city centre. Most P&O, Cunard, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity sailings depart from here.

Eastern Docks

Ocean, QEII. The grouping on the east side, closer to Ocean Village. Many P&O Iona / Arvia / Britannia / Cunard Queen Anne / Queen Mary 2 sailings depart from here.

On-port vs off-port

How parking at the Port of Southampton actually works

Three ways to park for a Southampton Port cruise. Same outcome (your car safe for the sailing, you on the ship), different trade-offs.

Option 1

On-port cruise terminal car park

~£140+ for 7 nights

  • Walk from car to ship
  • Limited spaces, books out for peak departures
  • Short-stay pricing, expensive across a full cruise
  • Operated by the port authority partner
Our Meet & Greet

Meet & Greet at the terminal gate

£135 for 7 nights

  • Hand keys at a 20-yard drop-off
  • Body-cam handover, 2 minutes
  • No shuttle, walk straight to the ship
  • Same return spot on disembarkation

Best balance of price and convenience for most port passengers.

Our Park & Ride

Park & Ride with shuttle

£85 for 7 nights

  • Park at our compound near the port
  • Short shuttle to any of the 5 terminals
  • Cheapest credible option for a full cruise
  • Same security and insurance as Meet & Greet

Best price for longer cruises. Add 20 minutes to the start of your day.

We are independent and family-run. We are not the on-port operator and do not resell their slots. We run our own gated compound near the Port of Southampton.

Long-stay parking at Southampton Port

Built for cruise-length stays, not airport overnighters.

Our compound near the Port of Southampton is set up for the cruise window: anything from a single overnight to a 41-night world cruise. Pricing is flat across the duration, not metered by the hour, so the longer your trip the less you pay per day.

For a typical fortnight cruise, Park & Ride works out at £120 against £170 on Meet & Greet and well over £200 at on-port short-stay rates. For a three-week or longer sailing the gap widens further. Same compound either way, same insurance running for the full duration of your sailing.

Secure parking at Southampton Port

What "secure" actually means at our compound.

Three things you will hear from any cruise parking operator: CCTV, gated, insured. The shape of the words is the same. The details are not. Here is exactly what we mean when we say secure parking at Southampton Port.

Body-cam handover, both ways

Every key handover is filmed on a body-cam by the driver who takes the car. Mileage, fuel, existing marks, and your registration are recorded into the same clip. On return the same driver does the same walk-around with the camera on so any disagreement is settled by footage, not memory.

Gated compound, overnight lockdown

Our compound is a fenced, gated site. CCTV-monitored throughout the day. Locked down overnight while you are at sea, with no traffic in or out outside of staffed hours. Cars are parked in numbered bays against a key log tied to your booking reference.

£2m public liability for the full cruise window

Cover is not a "while we drive your car" policy. It runs continuously from the moment we take the keys at the terminal to the moment we hand them back, including every night your car sits in the compound. That is the difference between a cruise parking operator and an overnight airport drop.

All three apply across both services. Meet & Greet at the terminal and Park & Ride from our compound get the same insurance, the same body-cam handover, the same gated lockdown overnight.

Which terminal, which cruise?

Which Port of Southampton terminal does your cruise use?

Your cruise line confirms the terminal in your booking documents, usually 2 to 4 weeks before sailing. Here is the rough mapping we see most often. Always double-check with your line because terminal allocations move ship by ship.

Western Docks

  • Mayflower — P&O smaller ships (Aurora, Ventura), Cunard Queen Victoria, smaller Royal Caribbean ships, MSC turnaround sailings, some Princess departures.
  • Horizon — Newer turnaround terminal used flexibly. Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian and Cunard sailings often allocated here on busy days.
  • City — The original Southampton cruise terminal. Smaller and specialist sailings: Saga, Fred Olsen, Silversea, Regent Seven Seas, Viking Ocean.

Eastern Docks

  • Ocean — Built for the largest ships at the port. Cunard Queen Mary 2, Cunard Queen Anne, P&O Iona, P&O Arvia, P&O Britannia, Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas, Disney departures.
  • QEII — Capacity overflow and large ships when Ocean is taken. P&O Aurora and Britannia rotations, Royal Caribbean's larger sailings, MSC ships visiting Southampton.

Either way, we park for every Southampton Port cruise terminal at the same flat price. You do not need to know your terminal at the time of booking — you can add or change it later.

Cruise day walkthrough

What to expect on the morning of your Southampton Port cruise

Same shape whether you book Meet & Greet or Park & Ride. The only difference is whether the handover happens at the terminal gate or at our compound.

1

The night before

We email a final reminder with your booking reference, the address to come to (your terminal for Meet & Greet, our compound for Park & Ride), and our driver's number for anything urgent. Set off with enough buffer for Southampton traffic, which can be punishing on Saturday cruise mornings.

2

Arrival at the port

You arrive at your booked time slot. For Meet & Greet, a Cruise Azure driver in hi-vis is at the terminal short-stay, 20 yards from the gangway. For Park & Ride, you pull into our gated compound and one of the team meets you at the entrance. Either way, you are not waiting around.

3

Handover

Around two minutes. Driver walks the car on body-cam, notes the registration, mileage, fuel, and any existing marks. You hand over the key. They sign you off, you sign nothing. Off you go.

4

During the cruise

Your car is driven to our gated compound. CCTV-monitored. Overnight lockdown. £2m public liability cover for the duration of your sailing. You do nothing.

5

Return day

We track the inbound time of your ship. For Meet & Greet, your car is at the same drop point waiting when you step off. For Park & Ride, you call the on-day number when you have your luggage and a shuttle picks you up within a few minutes.

That is the whole job. Book your Southampton Port parking
