Parking for a Celebrity cruise from Southampton

Cruise parking for a Celebrity Cruises sailing from Southampton, including Celebrity Apex and the Solstice and Edge class ships.

By Cruise Azure team 2 min read

Celebrity Cruises sails its Edge-class and Solstice-class ships from Southampton on selected sailings. Celebrity Apex is the most frequent visitor. The line is positioned in the premium segment, sitting between mass-market Royal Caribbean (its sister company) and the small-ship luxury lines. This page covers parking for a Celebrity cruise.

Which terminal will my Celebrity ship use

Celebrity uses City and Horizon Terminal most often. The two newer Western Docks terminals suit Celebrity's modern ship design.

Occasionally Celebrity sailings use QEII Terminal.

The /cruise-parking/celebrity/ page shows the breakdown.

What kind of cruise is a Celebrity cruise

Celebrity is the premium-positioned American cruise line. The ships are medium-large (Apex at about 3,000 guests), the on-board experience emphasises design, dining, and adult-oriented activities, and the customer base is mostly British and American on Southampton sailings, skewing older than Royal Caribbean.

The on-board feel is closer to a boutique hotel than a mass-market cruise ship.

For parking purposes:

  • Luggage volume is moderate-to-heavy. Celebrity customers tend to pack for the dining and dress patterns of the cruise.
  • Mobility considerations come up. Celebrity's older average customer means more guests with reduced mobility.
  • Pre-cruise hotel stays are common, particularly for premium and suite cabin guests.

Best service for a Celebrity cruise

For most Celebrity customers, Meet & Greet suits the rest of the cruise positioning. The convenience of the terminal drop-off matches the premium experience.

Park & Ride works fine for cost-conscious bookings or longer cruises where the daily price gap is significant.

Celebrity sailing schedules and patterns

Celebrity's Southampton programme is largely summer:

April to October: Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Iceland.

November to March: Celebrity's Southampton presence is reduced; ships reposition to the Caribbean and trans-Mediterranean.

Itineraries are typically 7 to 14 nights, with occasional longer repositioning sailings.

Celebrity check-in timing

Celebrity opens check-in around 11:00 am or 12:00 pm for an afternoon sail-away. Premium and suite cabin guests get an earlier window.

For our handover slot, the standard 90-minute arrival applies.

City Terminal approach (most common Celebrity berth)

City Cruise Terminal is at Berth 101 in the Western Docks, accessed through Dock Gate 10 off West Quay Road.

The approach is M27 to M271 to A33 to West Quay Road, signposted for Dock Gate 10.

Pre-cruise hotels for Celebrity guests

The Western Docks terminals are well-served by the Leonardo Royal Grand Harbour and Voco Southampton, both within walking distance.

For Celebrity guests preferring a more characterful pre-cruise stay, The Pig in the Wall is the boutique option in central Southampton.
