What kind of cruise is a Celebrity cruise

Celebrity is the premium-positioned American cruise line. The ships are medium-large (Apex at about 3,000 guests), the on-board experience emphasises design, dining, and adult-oriented activities, and the customer base is mostly British and American on Southampton sailings, skewing older than Royal Caribbean.

Celebrity sailing schedules and patterns

Celebrity's Southampton programme is largely summer:

April to October: Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Iceland.

November to March: Celebrity's Southampton presence is reduced; ships reposition to the Caribbean and trans-Mediterranean.

Itineraries are typically 7 to 14 nights, with occasional longer repositioning sailings.

Celebrity check-in timing

Celebrity opens check-in around 11:00 am or 12:00 pm for an afternoon sail-away. Premium and suite cabin guests get an earlier window.

City Terminal approach (most common Celebrity berth)

City Cruise Terminal is at Berth 101 in the Western Docks, accessed through Dock Gate 10 off West Quay Road.

The approach is M27 to M271 to A33 to West Quay Road, signposted for Dock Gate 10.

Pre-cruise hotels for Celebrity guests

The Western Docks terminals are well-served by the Leonardo Royal Grand Harbour and Voco Southampton, both within walking distance.

For Celebrity guests preferring a more characterful pre-cruise stay, The Pig in the Wall is the boutique option in central Southampton.
